RECIPE ALERT: Chocolate Pecan Brownie

Despite the worthy competition last Saturday at Harlem Harvest’s bake-off, we took home first place with our decadent chocolate pecan brownie. Chocolate lovers will delight at this unique brownie, which is richly dense with chocolate and packed with pecans. Once you try our chocolate pecan brownie, nothing else will compare. We even have the first place ribbon to prove it!


(24 brownies)

1 pound whole eggs
12 ounces melted semi-sweet chocolate
1 pound melted butter
2 pounds sugar
12 ounces all-purpose flour
1 pound chopped pecans

Directions: Combine eggs and sugar in a stainless steel bowl. Heat contents over a double boiler until the mixture reaches 103° F, and then pour into a stand mixer. Mix until thick and pale in color. Add melted chocolate and butter, and blend slowly until absorbed. Fold in flour. Spread mixture ½ inch thick on greased sheet pan. Top with chopped pecans. Bake at 325° F for 30 minutes. Let cool, cut into 24 squares, and enjoy!
