The Doe Fund received news coverage on NY1, celebrating Thanksgiving with the “Men in Blue”. Our chefs prepared an extravagant feast for residents and trainees– including 3,400 pounds of turkey, 400 pounds of sweet potatoes and cornbread stuffing, 60 pounds of glazed carrots, and 20 gallons of gallons of gravy.
Our Director of Food Services, Gino Dalesandro explains, “Usually, Thanksgiving is a very festive day. So many of the men who live here and so many of the men who work in the kitchen have so much to be thankful for. Many of us had a rough road, but we made it to the Doe Fund, and as a result we’ve been able to combine our two passions: food and service,”
